The Eastman Kodak Company started as a Dry Plate manufacturer in 1880, and ended up as one of the largest camera and film manufacturers ever.
Kodak were to focused on their film production, and were sidetracked by the digital camera revolution.
Today, Kodak is only a shadow of it’s former self.
Leica
Leica quickly became known for their quality cameras, and the compact rugged design, quickly became a favourite amongst photojournalists in rough places.
Nikon
Nikon was one of the largest camera manufacturers for film, but were hesitant in going all in on the digital market.
Nikonos
Nikonos was a part of the Nikon brand. This sub brand was a very popular underwater camera series, popular amongst divers and scientists.
